Reading vs Performing: How many decisions go into 2 minutes?

This post was inspired by anna_unfolding 's very interesting podfic meta about how they went about turning the author's words into a performance. The topic of decision making in podfic performance really resonated with me, so I thought I would try my hand at cobbling together a similar podcast, although mine kind of took a very long, very tangential turn. This podcast explores my thoughts and choices from zero to pretty much finished product.

In it, I read the opening scene of Play it Again by metisket (Teen Wolf) three different ways, with bits of commentary interspersed. mothlights 's podfic of the story is here. The scene itself averages 2mins, the rest is allllll my rambling. Hopefully it'll be interesting to someone around here...

Feel free to leave comments etc - I found this to be an interesting exercise and hope to hear other podficcers trying it out!

Night Pages: Oscar films 1-3 (double post)

Jesus, double night pages post twice in a row /o\ My track record is not looking up /o\

Okay, tonight’s double (and however more) will be a retrospective review for the 12 oscar films I saw in order to get my Golden Ticket, which means I now see as many free movies as I want at my local cinema until the end of October. YAY SMALL BUSINESSES \o/

So the Oscar promotion was basically, they screen oscar movies over 8 weeks, and anyone who sees 9+ films during that time gets 3 months of free movies, and anyone who hits 12 films gets 6 months of free movies. Naturally, being the tightass I am, I went for the 12 films option, and saw 10 of the 12 films on cheapass Tuesdays (and at 8 bucks a ticket, trust me, that’s cheap in Australia.)

So morning pages was this thing people used to do to get their writing mojo going, on the premise that if you write three pages (which is roughly 750 words), writing will become easier for you and, idk, you’ll go through a whole lot of self discovery or something and find things out about yourself that you never knew before. Right, so I want to organise a podfic collaboration for this amazing morally dubious teen wolf fic by hoars called 'might as well kiss the monster, laugh and fuck until you're dead'

I'd really love to get as many voices as I can for this project, so if you enjoyed the story and are interested, please let me know!
